Advertising...not for the faint at heart!

Today I had the pleasure of having an advertising consultant come to my home and discuss all the various advertising possibilities within the "Metro" newspaper!

Needless to say, the first 30 minutes, she did nothing more than ramble on about statistics!

Had it not been for my husband who brought me a cup of coffee...I would have fallen asleep while sitting!

I was merely interested in numbers...the bottom line! How much is it going to cost me and my family to place a MICROBIAL ad in that newspaper???

Imagine, over 300,000.00 people pick up and read that newspaper DAILY! The numbers are phenominal to say the least, but when it came down to the nitty gritty...I simply braced myself, as I knew it wasn't going to be pretty!
An ad, say 2" x 1" will run me $150.00 before taxes for ONE DAY!!! If I wanted anything a little bigger or featured on their "Mode" pages...I was looking at having to fork out over $500.00 for a little 2" x 2" ad!!!
She asked me how I was getting the word out about MBBM and I flat out told her: "The cheapest way I know how...by opening my mouth and telling people about it!"
Facebook, KIJIJI, Craig's List, you name it! If it's free...I will post there!

Many friends of mine have given me so many great ideas, on how to proceed in getting my company out there. I simply have to process all the information that I was given and use whichever method I can, with whatever financial means I have at my disposition (which equals to not much right now).
I have to be realistic and use a bit of common sense right now! I will not and cannot place my family's well being in jeopardy for a business that may or may not take off!

Money comes and goes, but my family will always come first...no matter what!
So BIG TIME advertising will have to wait!
I am in no way desperate to have my life change dramatically, or overnight, as I am happy just the way things are.
My children are healthy, we have a roof over our heads and food in the fridge...

This is all that matters!
